i love kubica as a racing driver. but id rather have him recuperate than suffer the last third of the season trying to score points behind petrov (given he does score.)

If they don't go for Senna this season, they should call Kimi.

Polish media report that he's getting well in the hospital, he had breakfast and is in good mood. He is still in the intensive-care unit but is expected to leave it soon. There's the surgery planned for Thursday to replace the bent titanium plate in his arm (probably the one from his earlier car accident).

Looking at the pictures makes me think that he's lucky to be alive.

+1

A foot either side and that armco would have killed one of them.

Read the autosport story. Recovery is going well. Doctor thinks full recovery is still possible, but only in a year.

Titanium arm? Bionic Eye? Did he cost Six Million Dollars?

Excuse me for making a gag, but now it seems that his life is no longer in danger I couldn't resist!

Wow
None of the reports I've read come remotely close to describing just how bad this accident was.

These graphs seems to be from other world - Robert crashed exiting right turn, not left. What a crap!

There's an interesting article on the BBC with an insight from David Coulthard about the effort required to steer a car. Coulthard seems to be saying that steering is about arm strength rather nan finger dexterity.

Its one of those "He was talking to Andrew Benson" moments so its a collection of occasional disjointed quotes rather than flowing prose. Worth a read though.
