Too much other factors to play into besides wheelbase.vas_04614 wrote:With more torque, which out of short and long wheelbase cars will be better at handling and driving?
Take a look at the 4th page of this thread. http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... 1&start=45RZS10 wrote:All cars that were available, took the pic from another thread

The STR looks bulky past the sidepods around the engine cover when compared to Williams and Mercedes. Ferrari has low wide pods at the base where Williams has a large undercut. The RBR car looks very neat and tidy around the sidepods and at the rear with a lot of clear open space where the STR looks like a garbled mess in comparison.
It's look bulky but it's not bulky... that's because the first and main part of its sidepods is very small and low.The STR looks bulky past the sidepods around the engine cover when compared to Williams and Mercedes.
Because its sidepods are very high, big and very long. They are not as huge as the Caterham or the Sauber, but they are one of the most massive. No doubt they will evolve. The RBR coke bottle is thin yes. Thinner than the STR yes but not much. The RBR car looks very neat and tidy around the sidepods
I could swear I went through all pages of this thread and did not see that i'm getting old ...Blackout wrote:Take a look at the 4th page of this thread. http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... 1&start=45RZS10 wrote:All cars that were available, took the pic from another thread
Great work BTW.
Williams sidepod is ridiculously smaller than any other. It reminds of the Sauber of 2013.Blackout wrote: The Williams packaging is impressive. Maybe few people noticed that the williams has a STR6/STR7 floating/double-floor sidepods. The undercut underneath is big and the cocke-bottle is very thin.
They haven't. The Red Bull rear end is about 1/3 of the width of the TR one. That, and the TR has a tricking enormous engine bulge above the side pods that the RB doesn't have.JDC123 wrote:Interesting that Toro Rosso have produced a tighter sidepod and rear end than red bull, and yet seem to be having slightly better reliability.
