it says LVDT o it so its probably the LIU for the linear sensors for damper displacement to connect to the Ecu. Check the McLaren Electronics website

Probably just to preheat the carbon discs. Carbon discs works like sh** at ambient temperature. They have no bite at all before reaching a couple of hundred degrees.

So the E21 is still evolving ! the fins placed low on each RW endplate are new :
