Another homemade F1 car, 2010 car revealed - Tonn

Post

Hello everybody
Over the summer break I made my own F1 car. It´s mostly inspired by Red Bull and Ferrari. I used Alibre Design 9.2, the free version.
Here are few pictures:

I often wondered about putting a rear splitter just ahead of the rear crash structure like the Ferrari F355...

I add a extra wing to the under of main rearwing. I think it could bent the main rearwing on high speeds and reduce the drag.
Is this legal???

I hate to tell you that rear wing element could be illegal, as that could be deemed the 3rd section of a 2 element closed rear wing. Hence why the TF109 has something simmilar suported above the rear wing and below it from below.

I like the idea tho.

Good job, but I think those rear tires are too narrow.

It would be legal but you cannot have flexing aerodynamic components...so that's a no. If you make it rigid, fine.

Jeh, the rear tires are same as the front tires, because I cant save no more then 5 different part in Alibre assembly. So even useing same tires I dont have the skid block saved to the car.

I started working on my 2010 car. I have made the 2010 specification tyres. I have them 380mm in back and 330mm in front. I am not sure about the fornt ones, should they be any narrower?

Welcome to the forum, Tonn. Nice work, very cool drawings and views, altough I find also remarkable asking for the tyre width and, nonetheless, drawing a car.

The sidepods look a bit like RB2. I wonder why nobody ever made anything similar.

It's funny how everyone makes the tires look..
