It'll be beneficial for fuel consumption, but I think it's primarily to get rid of the drag.

Are those strakes new?

It's interesting to see because most teams keep the strakes underneath the FW relative straight to having good clear vortices. Mclaren apperently sacrifices a part of this to bend air away from the front tyres. It probably also reduced FW downforce, so it could be part of a specific low drag package for montreal.

Is the vortex generator in front of the corner of the rear wheel new? Remember it looking like it was vertically straight up before. Now it has a lean to it.

Doesn't look like any smaller side pods. After all the talk about different spec exhausts than what was originally designed for, I thought we'd see a different side pod by now.

(Assuming that rumor was correct of course)

Kevin ran the double suspension arm blockers in FP1 but jenson ran only the one blockers and a standard suspension arm.

Am I right in thinking/seeing that they both ran one blocker, one conventional suspension Rm in FP2?

Butterfly only on the lower part of the arm.
They trying to save fuel removing drag.
Nothing to do with saving fuel - they're just trying to reduce drag for the high straight line speed circuit.

It´s absolutely crazy we STILL didnt see how the front of the blockers look like.

Well Jense and Lewis got this one wrong. I wonder why when we could all see that the lack of DF would hurt Mclaren at Monaco, these two thought Macca would be fast. It doesn't speak highly for the drivers' ability to understand the technical side of racing.
Pretty positive they have more idea of what there talking about than some arm chair fan.

Really? Neither of these two are engineers. I don't see why a driver would have a better technical understanding than an engineer. Just my two cents, but there are plenty on this forum with a better technical understanding of f1 cars than most f1 drivers.
