After another poor qualifying, Perez is imo toast! Time to slot Daniel back into his seat!

You'd have a joey in that seat, as long as it was from the outback

:D nah, I just think RBR is more fun with an Aussie driver in one of the cars.

Daniel is a done chapter in F1. A rookie in McLaren consistently behind Norris with a fine margin has proved it beyond doubt. Red Bull should focus on future. Perez will live through the year and in all likelihood, 2024 too.

When you’ve got Horner making these types of statements, I’d suggest you are dead wrong:
"But he seems to have refound his mojo, he's been working hard on the simulator, he's now extremely competitive in what he's doing in the virtual world.

"So whether that crosses over into the real world we'll see, albeit at a tyre test, we'll get an impression as to the level he's performing at. But certainly you can see there's a spring coming back in his step."

So far, he hasn't turned a wheel in real world. The only relevant and recent data was his 2 year stint with McLaren. For all the good talk of Horner, someone should ask if he can put Daniel back in Red Bull, you will see the answer. To that extent, he is done in F1.

If there a a lot of courtesy, they should probably do another deal with Williams to replace Albon with Daniel when Albon moves to Ferrari. Much safer place to not get destroyed again.

Daniel has a 3 day tire test in Silverstone, for Pirelli, in the current RB19 the day after the race. That will show one way or the other if the Honey Badger is back. Personally, Im betting he'll crush it.

Could be a killer for Sergio that. If Danny can prove he has the capability to put in the hot laps and show good race pace it will raise a few eyebrows.

As I posted on the RB thread, checo has the worst Q1 record on the entire grid over the last 5 races. Checo will be lucky Alonso qualified low down otherwise he’d lose 2nd spot

Indeed, all Daniel's Successors got canned for not being able to deliver consistent performances like Daniel used to.

One point though.....Since Mclaren got rid of danny, and he's still in contract.....does that contract allow him to race with another team this year? If McLaren said he should only take time out, and agreed on media/test driver duties with RB, the 20million odd payout hes getting might be in the way of him jumping in the RB seat mid season.

But then he got caned by Lando. So that makes him one of his own successors.

But we all know (and confirmed by Andreas after Key was fired) that the Maclaren cars had abnormal handling traits that Lando was able to adapt to having started his F1 career there. Daniel was unable to ever fully trust the car as a result.

Frankly, Key should have been fired years ago, then maybe PP would have been able to deliver a great car from the start of the new regs.

A driver worth his salt should manage to do the job with any given equipment, either better than his team mate or atleast as good. Unfortunately, Daniel didn't. So blaming car, designer, engineers, food in cafeteria and color of toilet seats would be in poor taste.

Twaddle, Daniel performed extremely well in everything he drove, including the CrapBox HRT, Torro Rosso, RBR and Renault - it was only the PoS McLaren's he couldn't get to grips with because of their abnormal handling, making them difficult for him to trust. If a top level driver can't trust a car, he can't get 10/10ths out of it.
