Alpine A522

Looks like they're not running any vents this week at all.

I wonder if this is a permanent solution after checking cooling capacity on track or it's related to the unusually low temperatures this last weeks.

Considering how hot it was in FP1, FP2 and they still ran no vents. I would agree with that.

Doesn't mean that we might not see them in the future. It does say there is no aero advantage in having vents. Better to have all the heat go out the rear.

Last season, cars had no louvers and just the barrel exits at the back of the engine cover. I'm not sure that the reason for the louvers is cooling capacity. I think it's more related to trying to find aero benefit.

Right but they have a new PU this year. So they might have been "playing it safe" with the cooling requirements. In either case the vents have been decreasing the whole time to now they're gone.

Best Floor pics. Although helping with porpoising, I can't help but imagine that we're losing DF by releasing air from underneath the floor like this.

BTW the rear exit is much smaller this year

No playing around with Beam wing angle yet, like RBR are.

The new PU was designed to operate at higher temperature, so it's hard to compare. The cooling on last season's car was also an unoptimized mess due to the floor cuts.
