Ducati, Aprilla and KTM. I think this side fairing design will be standard this season.

Take a look at what has been happening in Malaysia as the riders hit the track for the first time in 2023!

It seems to me that Ducati tries two different ground effect aero. This one looks like what we can see honda too, and the other one is followed by Aprilla and KTM.

Not even a daily recap video for video pass users on MotoGP.com!

Can’t believe they’re asking 159€ for this thing when formula 1 is asking 1/3 of it for much more content!
Current testing is just teams renting the track. The official MotoGP test starts friday.

Ground effect ? Hard to determine based on a photo. To me it seems more to clean up airflow, similar to what trucks have on the side of the front.
Same for the belly of the KTM.

The teams are bringing slab sided lower fairings and they surely are developed to enahnce that ground effect.

The Ducati "ears" I would agree are used to massage the flow but the other bikes are all moving towards a fat belly with flat sides.

Have also seen some S Duct blags on the Aprilia - exits on the upper fairing ether side of screen - perhaps to allow for the flow to be manupulated over the rider's back.

The Aero Genie is out of the bottle and partying hard in MotoGP

Thats a matter of opinion!
And I hope it doesnt dominate the conversation like it has the cars.
Can you name any races where that was the winning factor?
I can, and why. But even then it is a periperal IMHO to what constitutes a winning set up.
Refer back to previous post where even Kenny Roberts senior cannot work out any predictability.

Have I misunderstood what you are saying...that you actually want ground effect (vacuum) to pull the bike down when cornering?

Yes - exactly that they are looking to encourage the downforce at high lean. It does sound insane and having ridden on tracks myself since 2006, and even racing a few years before my son was born, I cannot quite imagine the dynamics of it myself.

It is self evident however and the super pictures posted by Saykas does show a theme of the bikes having flatter sided bellypans and various flicks and vanes.

KTM have been working with Red Bull to develop their bike and it is their key route this year to bring performance.
