A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

New spec is on the left. Mislabeled as Singapore

Should increase lateral expansion, improving diffuser efficiency

Still seems basic in some details compared to the best. The front strakes are pretty basic with no obvious 3-dimensionality to them (such as the RB has) and the overall shape is pretty simple. The RB has straighter strakes inboard that curve outwards markedly near the edge which (I assume) gives a stronger vortex and also allows them to control that vortex better as it's near the edge details.

That's my absolutely untrained layman's view.

They changed the diffuser sidewall at Spain which is, along with the floor edge changes, the sum total of their floor upgrades since Monaco

There were also changes made to the floor body for "local load" at Spa.

"Volume distribution adjusted to extract more local load from forward floor vortex system, which in turn improves flow to the diffuser"

I really hope they ended this car's development as early as Spain after realizing there’s no point in developing a concept that they won’t continue with in 2024…

I don't think the floor they brought in Monaco is completely new either. It's still the Bahrain floor with a bunch of small updates to the floor edges and diffuser area.

The Monaco update brought reprofiled floor fences as well
