The track will pay the fee to Liberty?

I'm sure there is a "get out" clause in the contract about "acts of god". Any halfway decent attorney would have made sure of that.

They should still hold a jet ski race, with refueling pit stops. 😏

There should be an option in the refund process to donate a % of the refund to the track or the town, since it's the locals who are more inconvenienced by this than the fans. To facilitate a good gesture by the fans to the locals.

Clearly there's a trend of increase in rainfall faster than the hydrology model can adapt to.
They had a drought for the year prior. Where was the climate concern for that duration? Newsworthiness of events =/= notability of events. People have been gaslighted about carbon being the worst possible emission of civilization for two decades now and it shows. Every moment of bad weather turns into an opportunity to appeal to heaven.

That is way too complicated, trust me. Fans with tickets can keep them for 2024 as a donation? That's a lot simpler.

Or just set up a seperate appeal/giving alongside.

Refunding tickets or keeping a certain amount to charity would just make it massively complicated with tax.

In the U.K. there’s a tax relief on these kind of donations called gift aid, so the extra goes to the charity rather than the government.

The water level has dropped in the lower paddock of the circuit. Personnel are expected to be let in today to assess damage and dismantle.

Legally? Logistically? It could be good publicity for the ticket seller and/or payment processor. Sort of like how an electronic tip is processed, just upon refund rather than purchase. Of course, any attendee could donate to a fund or charity at any point on their own; this would just be more convenient.

Logistically. Refund on the payment processing side is much easier to just refund the entire transaction and then accept a donation on a separate website under a new transaction with appropriate mcc. That's also useful for tax purposes...

Or you could always just keep your ticket towards 2024, and this implicitly helps the track owners with the short term capital crunch.

Faenza today.

Everybody is working very hard because there will be rain again in the weekend.
They expect a few weeks hard work to get everything clean again.
They have no idea how to get equipment to pump out all the cellars and that has to be done before the weekend.
Shops and houses were half full of water / mud yesterday.

Credit to Yuki there! Likely not to make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, but the little things help and its the thought that counts!
