In sunday's race max could lap the whole field except checo. Such would be the pace.
Let's remember last year and that this year the car is even better!
I hope Checo can qualify at front and try to challenge Max at least.
With a sprint race and variable conditions there's always the possibility of getting the setup wrong and also Checo ending up with a much better setup. Hopefully it won't be a walk in the park as we've come to expect

Last year P15 was still in the same lap, so that assumption is a bit steep ...

Max had the grid drop and was told to manage once he was in the lead. If they started from pole position with a serious attempt at lapping the field, they might have. There's no point abusing the equipment in that manner though so we would never see it.

What I find interesting to follow now is the Mclaren-Mercedes-Aston-Ferrari battle.

Say that every week, and the racing between them doesn’t really improve. McLaren look a step ahead of Mercedes, while Aston don’t even look a part of this equation anymore. Ferrari offer nothing of note to the sport right now. All in all, it’s not that exciting, bar qualifying.

I think Merc and McL look pretty evenly matched. Will be close in Spa if they end up on the same bit of track out of T1.

How is that possible when Checo has failed to finish second in I don’t know how many races. Max does then not lap him, but does lap people in front of him?

This race will actually be a good test to see how much everyone else has caught up to Red Bull in terms of efficiency. Will be quite interesting

As it currently stands, and it's still early, Friday and Saturday will most likely be wet, and Sunday is looking potentially wet as well.

Based on forecast precipitation per hour, it could be an intermediate tyre-heavy weekend or wet/inters crossover.

If it has to rain, I hope for a lite stady rain and not end of the world rain for 3mins and then drying circuit for 30 mins on repeat.

No way. Longest lap on the calendar. Would have to be 2,5s/lap faster than P5.

If it rains and there is reasonable amounts of spray, I can see the race being run behind the safety car for a lot of laps or even simply called off. Lots of concern about safety at Spa at the moment and a lack of visibility won't be conducive to the RD keeping the race going.

If people want to see a race in Spa, they'd better hope it's no worse than inters. Full wet conditions will be red flagged.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Will be interesting to see if Max can take Pouhon flat this year in quali (hoping it'll be dry). Even though Ferrari had decent efficiency in the start of the year, and it still likes straights - somehow i feel they will be jumped by Mclaren here, now that they're a high speed/med speed beast. And Norris loves the track.

curious to see what gap Max will open up by the end of the race considering last year’s performance…
