Mosley hints at possible Portuguese GP
FIA President Max Mosley has hinted at a possible Portuguese GP in the near future, after visiting the Formula One test track this past weekend and declaring it 'outstanding'. The Autodromo Internacional do Algarve has excellent facilities, but doesn't have an official slot in the Formula One calendar, although Mosley thinks that Bernie Ecclestone might consider it should the track contact him about it.
Mosley said to after vising the Portuguese track: "It would be a matter for them to make a commercial arrangement with Bernie. It's an outstanding circuit so I think there's no doubt if they made a commercial agreement with Bernie Ecclestone and FOM there wouldn't be the slightest difficulty about putting them on the calendar."
The Portuguese circuit at Portimao has only been opened this winter and was used by several teams to complete their winter testing programmes.
