Despite links to several Formula One teams, former Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto decided to leave motorsport behind to lead TEXA's E-Powertrain division.

Binotto departed Ferrari at the end of the 2022 season when he was replaced by Fred Vasseur. Over the course of the past months, the Lausanne-born engineer has been linked to multiple F1 teams, mainly with the Sauber-run F1 outfit that will become Audi's works squad in 2026.

However, the Italian has now secured a new position, becoming the managing director of TEXA S.p.A. The former Ferrari boss has been entrusted with the strategic coordination of the ambitious E-Powertrain division of the company to "make the division a clear reference point worldwide."

Speaking of his new job in a very different environment, Binotto said: “Beyond the competitive experience that I have always had in my life, what attracted me to TEXA was the strategic audacity of its project to build Italian excellence characterized by the most advanced technologies new mobility.

“In fact, TEXA intends to establish itself as the reference technological standard on a global level.

“And this thanks to the mobilization of huge investment resources and the attraction of the best talents to be concentrated in Italy, that is, where there is a formidable motoring culture to be preserved, renewed and now also relaunched.”
