Important visitor for Albers
The Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende paid a visit to Christijan Albers during Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix. The Prime Minister, who is a big fan of the sport, was visiting Australia for his work, but was able to come and visit the track in Melbourne.
“It was really nice meeting him in person,” said Albers. “It was a really friendly meeting and I’m honoured to have met him. I explained him some things about the car and the steering wheel which he found pretty interesting I think.”
The Prime Minister was over the moon being able to see the sport that close. “It was really fascinating to see Albers so relaxed with only twenty minutes to go before the start of the race. Albers drove a fantastic race I think,” Balkenende told Dutch newspaper ‘De Telegraaf’.
