Williams FW41 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I disagree. As evidenced, Williams has been working hard to gain some massive improvements, concentrating in the area where they really CAN make a distinguishable difference!

Livery.

Williams have put some substancial resource in the looks department so that new updates can be brought. These seem to be massively underrated in the F1 community, but happen to give better results than some boring technical stuff. Want evidence? here You have an assesment of France GP updates: https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comme ... tfits_are/

I'm glad to see Williams really getting their act together and working hard on updates! Keep up guys!

I think they just left it parked in the wrong part of Budapest overnight.

Interesting what seems to be happening at the rear of the sidepod, looks like air is built up and just detaches from that point.

The photos of the red side look like the car hadn't ran yet. The blue side, if that's what you're referencing, looks like boundary layer thickening. The vertical line through the Martini logo. My guess. If so I would think that it's pretty normal across the field. Laminar flow for what looks like a couple feet / ~1m, then detachment.

Oh hell no! I can't imagine the size of aero problems Williams has when they decided to put flow viz all over the freakin' car!

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

well it may as well be a tiny little vortex (or lack of it) in the wrong place and time that ruins all of the aero they are looking for. That would make sense to have a (colorful) picture of the whole package to see where it fails.
