Looked like gasly got to greedy on the curb and the front wing didn't like it.

Crap Pirelli blowing out again?
lol, he smashed his front wing at full speed. Don't think it's Pirelli to blame.

A bit of a joke that it didn't result in a permanent yellow, by the way. I can understand that they wanted to give Verstappen another chance, but with that slow car on track, I don't think it's the right thing to do.

I’m confused, did they lift off cause or gasly?
Yeah they did. I think you have to take that .4 gap with a bit of a pinch of salt.

Is Hamilton sacrificing the first sector slightly to keep his tyres going for the next two?

I believe so!
Hamilton made 2 mistakes in first few corners on his first q3 lap, that's why he was so slow there. He corrected on his second lap and that was a more representative S1 time. All this tyre saving in sector 1 is utter nonsense and pretty much always was.

Max was always slower in sector 3.

So whatever the gap was at sector 2 it was only going to get bigger.

How silly do you both feel now? Hamilton made 2 mistakes in first few corners on his first q3 lap, that's why he was so slow there. He corrected on his second lap and that was a more representative S1 time. All this tyre saving in sector 1 is utter nonsense and pretty much always was.

No need to be so salty, I'm making breakfast for a toddler, so I can't watch every single second of qualifying!

I thought so too, but just checked Verstappen's onboard again, and there were still yellow flags. Seems like yellow was just replaced by chequered in the tv graphics.

By the way what a performance from both Gasly and Alonso!

It is crazy how it transformed from “they’re too quick” to a gap of 4.5 tenths in two weeks. It can’t be just an ICE change.

No way that can cost 4 tenths man I struggle to believe that. Verstappen was already down a 1 tenth in S1 on Ham and nearly matched his own middle sector from first lap. Let's just face it, it is not close.

Not silly at all tbh. Was wondering if Hamilton was making the mistake purposely and doing a compromised line to save tyres or just didn't stick it. Turned out to be the latter. Chill.
