I was certain Verstappen would be staring 6th instead it’s 7th.
They have to apply penalties in order of the infraction.

Depends on who HAM chooses to give the tow to I guess
I guess he'll just stay on the racing line and hope that Alonso puts Gasly under pressure instead. Alonso might be happy to take P2 in to T1. He knows he doesn't have the race pace to take the win from Hamilton but he might feel a P2 podium place is on against Gasly - assuming Max doesn't make it through to challenge him.

It'll make for an interesting opening 10 seconds, I suppose.
Well, as Alonso just said ‘I have nothing to lose’- I think he will be quite bold, but I hope Gasly and himself will show some common sense vis a vis not hugely impacting the title
Hamilton really needs Bottas to get a blinding start to put pressure on Alonso from behind. If Alonso has to defend against Bottas, that helps Hamilton who just has to worry about Gasly. With Max also looking to make up places and Norris and Sainz looking to fight for good points, I fear T1 might see some damaged cars. A safety car isn't out of the question with anyone in the top 6 or 7 at risk of damage / DNF. I think it's going to be messy.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Sainz should have been given a penalty as well. He doesn't lift at all while going past gasly or marshalling post. He only lifts like 10 meters before finish line which is much further down the road, and the only reason he lifted a bit early is because he saw on his delta that the will not improve his time. He was 0.15s down on his first Q3 lap. FIA must be very blind not to notice this.

there's a throttle feather for sure, in 7th he doesn't go through the revs as quickly. FIA had telemetry evidence so I think that's more reliable than a video with no throttle trace.

Horner's ego is still bloated from all the titles that Adrian gave him

Yeah true. I only thought so because randomly Verstappen was called in first.

Red Bull; it’s always someone else that was wrong. They and their driver, is always right.

You should have heard him. Going off on Masi for not having control of his stewards too. Then bitching that Sainz wasn’t penalised even though he admitted he lifted.

CoD partner vs career nemesis of sorts. I know which I’d pick lol. GAS is a good man IMO and keeps himself out of trouble. I don’t know whether there’s truth to the Merc interest in him to replace HAM when he calls it quits, but that’s another wrinkle.
Team ANTI-HYPE. Prove it, then I’ll anoint you.

7.2 Single waved: Drivers should reduce their speed and be prepared to change direction. It must be
clear that a driver has reduced speed and, in order for this to be clear, a driver would be expected
to have braked earlier and/or discernibly reduced speed in the relevant marshalling sector.
Drivers should not overtake any car in a single waved yellow marshalling sector unless it is clear that
a car is slowing with a completely obvious problem, e.g. obvious accident damage or a deflated tyre.

Anyone watching the race build up on Sky F1? What did Di Resta make of Verstappen's penalty? :D

Fun feature with Sainz and Norris.

Damon Hill- do you think Verstappen and Hamilton are better than you?

Both- No (instantly)

That’s what I like to hear! Two of my favourite drivers.

TBF he kinda said he understood it. The guy who was most against it was Brundle.
