If 1 was true wouldn’t Merc be at the gala?Mattyw wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 22:12Two ways at looking at that
1. Agreed with merc they won't appeal if they have a full public enquiry to basically acknowledge the mistakes and make rule changes
2. Because its before merc appeal period ends, a public statement to them 'please don't appeal, we will hold the enquiry'
I can’t imagine an “enquiry” would be enough to appease MercedesMattyw wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 22:12Two ways at looking at that

I have a feeling it's leaning towards number 2.Mattyw wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 22:12Two ways at looking at that

Even Bernie suggested that Brabham needed to ‘pull’ the fan-car project (it wasn’t banned), and he was ‘the Man’ in FOCA at the time!!darkpino wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 20:18As far as I can remember none of them ever went into powerplay mode the way Mercedes does now. They protested, it got denied with the rules clearly shuffled down their noses. If they want to go to court: let’s do it. They will lose
Don't want to stir perse, but it was noted on motorsport, official formula1 etc. the advantage was at least 0.1, but likely even more than that. But 29x 0.1 equals about the 3s; enough to catch up 3/4 laps earlier considering the way newer tires. Not being said the overtake would be successfull, but there'd be easily 3 more laps to tryStarkblood80 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 15:12Just out of curiosity who calculated that Hamilton gained a 3 second advantage in Bahrain?
That's the thing; it wasn't overstepped, maybe a bright understanding of- and complying to the test just to be considered within the rules. The same area exactly any competitor is working in, the grey one. With regards to Redbulls wing and pitstops you must lay at least a percentage of the blame on them for overstepping the rules.
Now you pull in into the Sunday discussion to prove a point, but you shouldn't: it stands by itself, and it's just an answer to your question where Ver/RB were decided against.I don’t think any of those examples are directly comparable with what happened on Sunday either.
Correct, they did so occasionally, but it's just whataboutism ..Lastly you cannot deny that some decisions by masi/stewards have benefited Redbull or Max either.

You may have just put up probably the best post of the thread ...
That gave me a much needed laugh.GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 22:08We did nothing wrong, but we're having a big old meeting to discuss how to imorove all the stuff we did that there was nothing wrong with.

What takes real skill and competence is, having the foresight to make changes in anticipation, and prevent these things from happening in the first place.
Ever since Masi took the helm, he has behaved like a really, really, really bad and amateur football ref who was trying to save the day by making another mistake to save face for the previous one.
No wonder it ended in disaster.
