A definite big congrats to the boys from Milton Keynes. What a long time a year is in F1. Only a short time ago we were saying how unbeatable Ferarri and Macca were, how BMW were on the rise with their first 1-2 in Canada.
Now Ferrari and BMW look to be in dissaray and Macca are facing a very unpleasant WSC that could have far reaching consequences.
Biggest simpathies of the day are with Force india / Sutil. Despite the criticism that was a real tank slapper in a river. Really unlucky. If you compare that to lewis who spun at least twice in the same spot riding the same curb, then which is worse?
As for qualifying I think RBR proved that they have both dry and wet pace but Brawn are clearly softer on the tires. That gives them good race pace in the dry especially with fuel however it meant they couldn't generate the same heat in the wet. Jenson basically admitted as much in the uni's.
I think the Championship looks to be quite interesting. Brawn are fast now but there is a question mark on their development potential. RBR are clearly the best non DDD car and have a lot to gain from a reworked rear end. Toyota had a disspointing race but are clearly there abouts, Macca are improving but have a WSC hurdle, TEam Willy will do the same as the last 5 years and will march backwards from here and Renault ( and I mean Alonso) will be the unknown Chamelon.
Have to agree that Piquest / Bourdais / Nakajima will have to do a lot more from here to be doing any F1 testing of Jan 2010.
Big congrats to webber who ducked opening his brolly inside while walking under a ladder in front of a back cat on Friday the 13th. I could feel the mixed emotions that were clearly there under the surface. Happy to be 2nd nut Boywonder gets the 1st RBR win and all associated cudos. Actually come to think of it Webbo's luck might not have improved at all
