What's the Beatle line ? "Can't get much worse"
at least the problems were pure bad luck.

the car is fast, specially in qualy where it is the 3rd fastest.

this is not mclaren-honda, that was the hell

It's not just bad luck.
1 - He's had a couple PU issues, 1 that has caused him to loose a ICE.
2 - A hydraulic problem which appears to have come from a failed gasket(engineer error?).
3 - Lauch problem at the start of the sprint race. It didn't seem to have any battery power at the start so Alo went backwards(engineer error?).
4 - Oddly, Alpine consume the tires too much but still have issues getting them up to temp.

yeah, of course there are a lot of reliability problems for Alpine.
but that problems are not big.
It have cost a lot of points, but Renault engine is not like Honda 2017.

i really think that Alonso and Alpine can win 2 or 3 races this season and 5-6-7 podiums.

To me, the tyre munching is probably the biggest issue. Often traits like this cannot be developed out of the car easily and it will affect every single race. Even if reliability is sorted they still may go backwards on Sundays all season

The tyre issues are probably somewhat related to a lack of downforce on slow/ medium corners. The rear of the car looks really squirrely in traction zones. So all the sliding around probably chews up the tyres. My guess would be P5 constructors again over the course of the season.

I have my fears it might be a rear suspension/mechanical grip issue. Oddly enough last years car wasn't the best on tires. It sucks that when they rebuild the suspension from the ground up, Alpine's lacking in the same places.

Top is Alo, Norris, LeClerc and Ver. I noticed this. See how Alpine Speed is down at the end of the start finish straight?

look at the RPMs and the Gears thier in. Norris and ALonso are both still in 7th gear. Atleast Norris is near the red line. Both Leclerc and Ver are in 8th. Alpine has significantly taller gears. Making acceleration tougher.

Two test going on in different geo location.

1. Imola with OCON for 2023 tyre test today
2. Two day test with last year R20B car with Oscar in Austin

Is it any useful for this year car.

On the contrary, I felt last year they were poor getting the tires upto temp at the start but made them last much longer, à la Brazil and even Hungary.

Alpine had one of the lowest top speed in Imola. Did they had to turn the engine down due to reliability

Cautiously optimistic for Quali. ALO looks like a strong contender for best of the rest, maybe 2nd row of someone up front makes a mistake

Both McLaren and Alpine have taller gears. Neither of them used 8th gear much, without the DRS. That's the only data I could find that made any sense.
