Sainz will never:
- Outqualify Leclerc
- Handle Ferrari politics
- Get an extension at Ferrari
- Outscore Leclerc
- Win a race at Ferrari
Its not that serious. Let’s lay off the prediction making.
Sainz made the right call on the restart after the safety car. Had he followed Ferrari's instructions, it's likely Ferrari would have lost the race today. Had he followed the pit wall ? Might have seen Lewis or Perez on the top step. Tbh Charles looked scrappy and a bit desperate today. The pressure of chasing Verstappen's championship lead might have already gotten to him. Sure Sainz wasn't as fast, but he did what he needed to win the race. He might well have put a few noses out of joint at Ferrari ? But so what ? It's about time the management were given a kick up the backside.Big Tea wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 20:15You don't have to be perfect, just good enoughXyz22 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 20:13I always try to judge the performance. He still got the win so congrats to him.
Page or 2 back. I posted it in this thread

Ferrari will not win championships with a pit wall that sloppy. They lack the consistency of Red Bull and Mercedes respective pit walls (who do make blunders, but not that often).
even if we assume this true , only one car would have lost position and even then...ferrari is the faster car ,would have easily passed Lewis. we all saw Charles fought with lewis so long even with old hard tyres to Lewis's fresh softs.Peter Ian Staker wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 20:57Watching the safety car pit stops again, I am not quite sure the gap between Leclerc and Sainz was big enough when they reached the pits to double stack without risking losing track position to Hamilton.
If he'd not broken the front wing he'd have probably won the race, hence scrappy (had Verstappen avoided breaking his aero, he'd have probably won the race). Sainz saw his chance of winning and he took it with both hands. You don't have to be fast to win a race, but know when to take a chance and go for it.Shal_Leg16 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 20:48are we talking about same race ?taperoo2k wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 20:31Sainz made the right call on the restart after the safety car. please dont try to make Sainz " The la profesora " of Ferrari by claiming it his call on every bit of luck falls his way. After SC car everyone pitted except Charles because he was the leader and may be they thought not to give away track position something similar to what happened with Lewis in lasy years finale, only difference is that then it was only 3 laps remaining so Mercedes were in more trckiy situation had lewis pitted Max would have stayed and so on. Here there was enough laps remaining to pit both drivers and pass lewis had he stayed on with his old hard tyres. They messed the strategy , it was easy 1-2 with charles winning.
lastly Charles was scrappy ?
he was lapping fatser then both Sainz and Lewis ( 8 lap fresher tyres ) with a brocken wing. before Ocon incident ...he had pulled a 3s gap on Sainz and 6s gap on lewis. i dont get what race you were watching.
Ferrari wasn't fast enough today to assume they could overtake Hamilton that easily.Shal_Leg16 wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 21:09even if we assume this true , only one car would have lost position and even then...ferrari is the faster car ,would have easily passed Lewis. we all saw Charles fought with lewis so long even with old hard tyres to Lewis's fresh softs.Peter Ian Staker wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 20:57Watching the safety car pit stops again, I am not quite sure the gap between Leclerc and Sainz was big enough when they reached the pits to double stack without risking losing track position to Hamilton.
