We were told from them for weeks Red Bull were cheating and once the TD is enforced it would move Red Bull back.BlueCheetah66 wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 12:05The fact that Horner is going on the aggressive threatening legal action makes me think there is no actual overspending on their behalf, but then it would also be weird for both Mercedes and Ferrari to come out with heavy accusations without something to back it up rather than just based on what they have spent
Ended up being total BS. Toto is a talker and a bluffer.

Umm, Silverstone and Hungary? Mercedes certainly didn't pay the bill! How much does an F1 car cost?
In 2021, Motor Sport Magazine came together with F1 Chief Technical Director Pat Symonds to figure out how much a modern F1 car costs and came up with some eye-opening numbers.
Engine: $18.32 million
Chasis: $707,000
Gearbox: $354,000
Hydraulics: $170,000
Rear wing: $85,000-$150,000
Front wing/nose cone: $141,500
Floor and bargeboards: $141,000
Brake discs and pads: $78,000
Small components: $51,000
Steering wheel: $50,000
Fuel tank: $31,000
Halo: $17,000
Tires: $3,000 per set
TOTAL: $20.62 million
Read the article and gauge the price of development. It didn't mention spares which are orders cheaper than developing upgrades.ispano6 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 17:46PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 17:21Earthquake... New estimates are 10 million. Let's see where it goes.

How on Earth is a metal engine $18m? Is that a per unit / r&d spend figure?PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 18:21Read the article and gauge the price of development. Must be the season price for the a certain number of engines and the staff support. I cant say if its for eight or ten engines though. In 2014 Renault engine package was the most expensive at 30 million.Zynerji wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 18:25How on Earth is a metal engine $18m? Imagine what they could save if they mandated cast aluminum block/heads, and were allowed to rebuild the engines during the season.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 18:40Must be the season price for the a certain number of engines and the staff support. I wonder what stopped the writers of the article from claiming 25 million?PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 17:21Earthquake... New estimates are 10 million. Let's see where it goes.

That engine figure is incorrect. The entire season allocation of engines (6 + 5000km testing ) is cost capped at 15 million euros.
