To be honest, where Mclaren are in the development situation, i wouldnt be at all disappointed to get that extra wind tunnel time for finishing 5th

Ricciardo said he's staying out. His choice!

Stayed out too long before pitting. 🥲

He pitted almost simultaneously with Alonso, he lost 7 tenth in the pits but he lost so many places. Anyway..

It’s early days, but the latest update seems to work really well for Daniel. He was frequently faster than Lando in qualifying (by 6/10ths) and only 2/10ths slower when he wasn’t quicker.

It’s just a massive shame Mclaren were so conservative with their initial design as they could have had both drivers scoring good points every weekend a lot earlier.
No matter how conservative they were, Daniel is paid pretty money to compensate and adapt. Lando did it for peanuts in comparison. Daniel sadly woke up too late. And even with that, he is still slower.

I was on Daniels side for more than a half of the season, but their collaboration simply didnt work out. It is better they part their ways.
On the flip side, why would you hire an expensive star driver and knowingly give him a car that he can’t extract maximum speed from?

We also have Lando on record as saying he would like the many of the same traits as Daniel. So it’s not like Daniel was the outlier here.
Facilities are outdated. They make what they can. Aparently for some reason they were unable to make a good car for slow corners for few seasons in a row. Their solution/compromise was a difficult car. We will see what happens in the future with updates of facilities. There wont be any excuses then.

You have to admit though, that Mclaren is not as selfish as they were in their Honda era and before.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

So 1 point for McLaren and 13 for Alpines. Could be worst.... -8 points the gap now to P4 in Constructors.

Daniels stop was slower than preferable (3.5s) but Fernando did have a few seconds gap to Daniel.

It was a mistake for Daniel to stay out, he threw away some good points, despite driving very well today.

Seems so...FIA did it again. The rules are as they want. Full points given also for this so called race. More and more money dictates.

the fronts on both cars were gone after a few laps... and it was very inconsistent. similar to what we saw on friday,, the car is very understeery in wet conditions. Hopefully its just a lack of package understanding.

Watching the onboards... to be honest the williams was quicker in most stages, which is quite disturbing.

The reduced points system applies only "If a race is suspended and can not be resumed". (Article 6.5)

Which is silly, you can have two races that run the same distance but one will award more points than the other just because of the colour of the flag they end under.
