AMR23 on full throttle through turn 10 when the others had to go off throttle and worse Sainz tapped the brakes.
They are running a lot of downforce.

Very interesting. Also puts Max in a odd place if he goes new Med onto a used soft.

I see the pit strategy graphic hasnt been released yet so super interesting to see where things could land up here.

Best times so far (bottom left):

A whole 1.3 seconds on the medium to the hard. I know its not representative at all but interesting infomation.

On the basis of the struggle we witnessed to warm up the soft tyres, it's safe to that hards are completely useless tyres here. So it's a safe S-M if no SC. If there is an early SC, then shed the softs and go to medium. If there is a late SC after the first stops, then shed the mediums and go for a second set of softs.

It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow. Max said today that it was "tricky to keep the tire alive".

Air temperature is expected to be 17 deg at the start and fall for the next couple of hours, which makes the track temperature to be around 25. It isn't a lot to bring hard into picture. The main problem is the new asphalt that isn't heating up the tyres to generate enough grip from them.

Min 9 deg C Max 19 deg C Partly cloudy. Chance of any rain: 5%
http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/forecasts/melbourne.shtml

Though a lot of this is global now, and you can use any global weather service you prefer. :)
I mean I have a mobile phone and I have a forecast on my phone :D but it shows rubbish more often than not, for instance if was showing dry cloudy yesterday when the track was pored with rain.
One have to be a local to know which one works best for a particular place. Yeah, chance of rain during the Grand Prix is exactly what I wanted to know about. Thanks!
There's a rain radar by the BoM as well: http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR023.loop.shtml#skip

They have an app too, which shows current and predicted rain, but I'm not sure if it's available outside Australia (search for "BOM Weather").

The intrigue of the tyres is making me not want rain for once.

It'd be nice to get rain come Imola and Canada though!

Rain would be more interesting than any possible dry tire race. The tire warmup will be far less of a problem with an extra 100kg of fuel onboard so it's likely to be a more regular race if it is dry.

Merc's pace was skewed on the positive side because of cold track. I expect Verstappen to be quite far ahead unchallangeed by anyone. Alonso will get past both two Mercedes and Perez will storm the the field and it'll be interesting to see if he could achieve a podium. As for Ferraris they'll be close to Mercedes but a little but back.
