Norris is solid again, looks like he’s the only driver who can drive the current Mclaren cars. 🤦‍♂️

I'd say that's a bit of a jump. Oscar has managed just fine so far this season but certainly seems to be a bit further off this weekend (perhaps unsurprising given it's his first time in Monaco in an F1 car).

Piastri has been close this season, Monaco he has to be very careful.

There's no doubt this has been a great start to the year by the young Aussie.

Even a great like HAM put it in the wall which will put them on the back foot for Quali. Oscar is just fine being conservative until quali

not this again.....

Oscar is a rookie and Monaco will be the most difficult circuit meanwhile Lando has always been special here and in Imola. Oscar was doing fine in the last 5 circuits.

Having a big crash is the one thing the team don't want Oscar to do. It's no surprise he's being conservative. If he has to back off for this weekend to make sure development isn't compromised, that seems like a worthwhile sacrifice imo

Oscar’s saying he lacks confidence in the car. If you don’t have confidence, you can’t extract the maximum from the car.

As in what context did he supposedly say this?

I can’t remember exactly what he said, but it was words to the effect that he needs to find consistency and confidence.

At least I know how to quote someone!

Seriously tho, what in my statement is not factual? Even the Sky FP3 broadcast mentioned Oscar was struggling to find confidence around Monaco.

On a track like Monaco this definitely doesn't tell the full story as it doesn't show the duration or % of throttle used that isn't 100%.

Monaco is unique in this regard as there are large traction limited areas so it wouldn't be surprising if maybe the driver isn't quite at 100% but maybe spends more time at part throttle where other teams drivers might be completely off the throttle, none of which is shown on this graph.
