has AF ever disclosed how he got the simulations? what is his source material?!
Not that I know of... and to be honest it looks to me as last race performance with some circuit-specific corrections applied. More like a simple model than a simulation but maybe I'm too skeptical

if hes just pulling numbers out of thin air just like that stupid rumour train he started on sunday i expected better of him. he is an esteemed technical journalist so he should have some accurate numbers to back up his X-cretions

The competitive order from his simulations often seem to be similar or the same as those produced by the f1.com simulations made after free practice sessions. To the extent that they often underrate/overrate the same teams on a given weekend. Not a stretch to suggest that some journalists are given an expected running order ahead of a weekend by F1 themselves?

Friday could have thunderstorms. Maybe some setup issues again if the only free practice is rain affected

Can anyone see an argument for anyone taking the fight to RB in the race or do they have enough up their sleeve?

.
What will happen if during the only FP there is a huge thunderstorm and it rains continuously so the drivers can't drive? Driving a car all weekend that they haven't been able to adjust ?!
After that FP, the car has to be in Parc Fermé and then qualifying for the main race with a car that is not properly adjusted. #-o
That whole sprint race weekend is one big shame.

Mercedes should be close in race. Ferrari might be the fastest again in Qualifying.

I can only pray for this scenario to materialize.
Probably then more people will start talking louder against this Sprint weekend nonsense.

He only looks at short term viewer number increases. Doesn't seem to care about the long term "damage" it could do the the sport.

Merc close in the race based on what? The only time they've been close to RB this season in race trim was COTA where they were illegal and RB had brake issues..

Predicting Ferrari pole and a podium place on Sunday (if the team does not find a way around it strategically yet again).

First few rear wings

RB with max dwf rear wing. Will be quick through S2, good on tyres and quick if rain

And lower deg in the race. I guess they feel they can get a good enough qualifying position with that barn door. But if Ferrari, Mercedes or McLaren bring lower downforce configurations I doubt Red Bull can put their cars on the front row.
