Komatsu must be eager to hit that self destruct button if he really hires Ocon

Not at all. Ocon and Bearman would be by far the most talented line up Haas has seen, and a good mix of experience and new blood. As long as you keep Ocon on a short leash and remind him what the priorities are it will be fine.

Bearman / Ocon duo at Haas likely
So Mercedes won't take Ocon for one year after all? :(

I think Sainz should consider a nice one year Alpine-Renault deal too... Seems better than a 2+2 year Williams deal IMO.
Williams are going forwards, Alpine are going backwards, they need to basically rebuild the team. If the hype of the 26 engine is to be believed Williams will be competitive, so Williams while risky feels less risky than Alpine
I believe in the chain of command, Its the chain I use to beat you till you do what i want!!!

Ocon is a good fit for Haas, and it’s a good team for Bearman to begin. It’s one of the better mid field teams, and offers good experience for Bearman. Ocon’s aggression will serve Haas well.

I think Komatsu would make it plain to him that there will be no messing or he will be made to walk, and have it in the contract. (if it was to happen)

Guenther came over as a tyrant, but I can see Komatsu giving a black look as first warning, and your papers as the second.

Still, the guy does not have a good track record. What would be the point of hiring him if you fire him after 10 races... Changing both drivers again would not be a good thing for Haas, they need some continuity

Ocon is so good, that Alpine signed him to a three year extension!

People seem to underrate Ocon IMO. Sure he is erratic, but he is quite fast. He pushed the Alpine much harder in the early part of the season when it was a backmarker than Gasly did IMO, Ocon had much more of a maximum attack fighting spirit to make Q2 than Gasly.

For all the speed that he has, he is also a stupid team mate whose focus is to simply finish ahead of his team mate, even if he has to go dirty for it. He has done it so many times that his team got fed up with him and firing him out of job. Once that reputation is built, no top team would be keen to take such drivers. Alonso is a generational talent such a clean driver on track, but had the reputation of being selfish and for that, a lot of top teams were averse to him. Now imagine someone who isn't such a talent as Alonso, but is always dirty with his team mate on track, where will that reputation take? I don't think Mercedes is taking him for sure as their only options are Max or Antonelli. It's Haas or Sauber for him as they don't get any top driver. I won't be surprised if either of those teams don't sign him.

Ocon is a race winner! And he showed well against Alonso. He beat Alonso in points, even.

For the points he brings, he would cost all the sponsorship money in damages while colliding with his team mate. Net zero and bad atmosphere in the team. Alpine is evidence of it.

Making Alonso lose around 40-50 points due to reliability was some great driving by Ocon.

Where's the evidence of it? Prior to Monaco 2024, the only other crashes he had with Gasly weren't caused by him.

I reckon either this weekend (Sainz home race) or Silverstone (Williams home race).... That's assuming he goes to Grove.
