Solution for 2026 rules problem for FIA

Solution for 2026 rules problem for FIA

Post

Hi All, hope this idea reaches the FIA :)

2026 rules made the FIA to come up with active aerodynamics for F1 cars.
My suggestion is a lot simpler, cheaper, lighter solution, that will also solve many problems F1 is struggling for decades.

Simply enable flexible wings.

- It will solve the efficiency, max speed problems that exists for 2026 cars, as it does the same thing as active aero would
- it does not require new complicated rules for active aero
- does not require electronics, motors, mechanical joints etc like active aero would, hence:
- it would be lighter
- cheaper
- less prone to failure
- it would end the endless cat and mouse game between teams and FIA regarding flexi wings. Let them flex, only rule could be that it is safe, not breaking etc.
- Teams already know a lot about flexi wings apparently... so they would not have to change things around the factory and design team

What are your thoughts?

I think flexible wings are banned because they caused some spectacular crashes before. And I think it's rather problematic to regulate effectively.
