This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
But it's weird that Mercedes keep saying they don't know why they're fast, when it's openly discussed that these conditions absolutely suit their car. Their low downforce package is very good and they don't struggle as much in low grip as the others.

Wolff said exactly that in every interview I have seen this weekend so far. Who doesn't?
what is it going to be from the GOAT brigade this time ? the excuse. P10 v P1. An innocuous mistake in T3 (where almost no one has made a mistake the whole weekend). As I mentioned before, at some point human foibles are going to show up, with age. He will do very well in the race, the car is a rocket with DRS open. Russel is going to have a game on his hands, with both Ferraris chasing with DRS. The rate at which the Merc is heating up the tyres (look at S1 in all Q runs), it might take the Ferraris 3-4 laps to catch up, to be within DRS. A real chance for a win has opened up for Russel, with this pole.

Sky keep saying that Mercedes don't know why they're fast. They have been competitive in these conditions for the last 3 years. It's a decent data set they have on it
Hamilton didn't know why he was so fast in Practice.
Seems his pace/confidence had already gone from Friday before quali even started.
Was maybe overdriving the car expecting a pace drop off.
Dont think it was a confidence issue, if anything he had a lot of confidence, was up there with Russell all weekend. was probably trying to overdrive the car, first run locked up. second run looks like he got a snap of oversteer in the middle of the corner sending him off track and lap got deleted
The rear just gave out on Hamilton. Looked like he might have been too greedy on the throttle. The first mistake in the banker lap looked like a braking error. I dunno. He just sucks at qualifying now. It started in the middle of last season.
George delivered the lap when needed. He is a supreme qualifier. Can he hold on to the lead now? We shall see.
