Mclaren missing their mini-DRS, would come in handy here.
Just a few races ago they were dominant everywhere. Now, several cars are outperforming them. Seems very strange, just like how Red Bull's dominance ended so abruptly, this year.

To be completely honest, it all seems very fishy to me
must be more than just the mini DRS, though. McLaren pace from today is about 1s off, I would say.

Unless Merc have improved a lot overnight, i dont think they have the race pace to challenge Ferrrari and Mclaren

I still think it's really difficult to say. There haven't been any runs on the Hards yet at all, which will probably be used for sth like 80% of the race. Graining/pace on the Medium may not mean too much for the final result.

Something happened b/w Q2 and Q3, two McLarens, a VCARB and a Haas - they didn't improve their Q2 times by much ; while others did, by considerable margins.
Large delay b/w Q2 and Q3 => track temp dropped further ? how did others cope ? did all those guys adapt their tyre warmup procedure, but these four didn't ? or were these 4 cars already hitting their absolute limit in Q2 itself ?

Can we say that Hamilton is having a tough time with all the younger guns at their prime? He clearly bodged Q3.

Tires left for tomorrow:

Plenty of softs for Perez to steal fastest lap.

Doesn't have Russell new tires for the race?!
And does Lewis only have one new M tire?!

I have no idea what is happening with Lewis. Up until Q3, he was looking extremely quick.

I think we saw the strategy all over the weekend: They put a lot of afford into what looked like glory runs at the end of FP and used the soft tires for these. They clearly prepared for Q.
Same story with the scrubbed tires: They want to stop early with a more constant tire.

My bet is they are betting on a "hard to overtake" situation in the race and want to make sure to be always at front. Might be something behind with these Monza wings...

yeah, the number in brackets shows the amount of laps completed on the set. Russell did one lap at the beginning of Qualifying, all others scrubbed them in FP3

This should be a good race like others have said McLarens should go forward, who knows about the Mercs and Gasley, I always would of bet on a Ferrari 1&2 here but I honestly don't know.

I bet alot of lap time is done to confidence on pushing with low grip. Gasly is paid off, Hamilton got stung

Any increase in temp is going to benefit Ferrari. Wouldn't be surprised at a COTA/Mexico-type performance if temps are up around 60F+.
