It was not an easy choice, so much so that it was made only a little more than half an hour before the QP Sprint, after a long analysis of FP1 data: Leclerc will use in QP and the Sprint the new floor. (c) Donadoni
Hinchcliffe said Ferrari is a bit twitchy in T4, although I didn't see much of that in the soft runs but LEC made an error in entry to T5 on his fast lap where he took too much kerb and had to lift a bit, so maybe there's something to it.
LEC also complained that he had a bit too much traffic in S1 on his lap so he couldn't take the best line in T2-3.
T10-16 looked really good, but Lando was nowhere close to the kerbs in those corners, he was going slow but it's hard to know if it's due to lack of confidence/car or simply he wanted to go slow there.
That still looked like a very easy lap to put together. My hopes aren't up yet, but certainly encouraging FP1.
Track temps drop and we are nowhere, both drivers complained about understeer on their final runs. I hope 2025 can fix this issue because it is just plain annoying at this point.

The drivers were only 0.027 apart. I think they were on low fuel loads earlier, plus track temp dropping and soft tires may have made things more difficult.
Honestly we're much closer to pole than I expected coming into the weekend, so...
Anyways, we knew this would be a tough track though and McLaren would be stronger. Points are tomorrow, let's hope they can make up ground there.
