What’s next, a drive through in the coming race for being late for a press conference?

New strategy incoming, wait for a cool down lap, sit behind your competitor, then smash the throttle in the twisty section where its near impossible to get out of the way and start whining on the radio. Works best when of British nationality, otherwise you may risk getting penalized for driving unnecessarily quickly on the cool down lap.

If I were Max i would send it as hard as I can in that first corner.

Russell starts from Pole - Verstappen got a 1 grid slot penalty somehow
This might qualify as a low-effort post, but that is absolutely hillarious from the stewards.
Does smell of British bias
There is one only race steward from the UK at this race weekend, and it's Derek Warwick.
I think this is pure FIA must be seen doing something style of decision making.

Yes the new strategy will be to launch full speed in the middle of an outlap and claim your opponent has driven unnecessarily slowly.

This is an embarrassing precedent. One they'll doubtless never follow through with in future
We've seen all kinds of shenanigans on outlaps, no one was ever forced to let others through, they were always allowed to block and fight for track position.

Russell was going so fast i though this was his hotlap when the scene was shown on TV, but he was only trying to get ahead of others... makes no sense.

That on a triple leg ultra fast corner, there's no visibility, there's no "off the racing line" in that type of corner.

Then they’ll gift him 2 more penalty points. They gave a full point for this as well. Leaves a sour taste.

I would take that one on the chin if I were Max, I would make sure whiney boy doesn't get the W.

The FIA:

Did you spend an hour watching quali to see the grid order? Nevermind that, we've changed it for you several hours after the session ended. How did we do it? By penalising something we've never penalised before with a penalty that didn't exist before today.

Clownish.
So true .. why the fuk are we watching this whole ordeal if they make up nonsense anyway afterwards !?

Since Liberty took over and decided this needs to be a show, things get crazier by the week .. truly debilitating.
Or is it just about annoying Ver as much as possible just so he quits as early as possible?

One almost wonders why Ver didn't get a penalty for driving too fast in the rain in Brazil ? Or driving until there was a red ?
Bet they'd spin some reasoning in a heartbeat ..

"We were all just driving slowly. I wouldn't know what I could have done differently," Verstappen said. "The fact that I have to go [to the stewards' office] is already very strange to me. Otherwise, next time I'll just drive flat out too and pretend to crash [into the other car]."

"He should have braked. I braked. Just like the cars in front of me. And I don't want to screw them. I'm honestly a bit done with all of this at the end of the season."

I wouldnt blame liberty on this sh$tshow only, ever since sky came in f1 has been going down the drain , the presenters are so full of themselves talking crap all the time with their pre and post shows , they just love the travelling circus and being around the paddock just for themselves , constantly talking about themselves during commentary and how good they look on a graphic.
Even the ones on F1TV all british all sky.
On topic there were only 10 cars on the road thats why we have the 3 sessions so the track is empty and cars can be more spaced out to start their flying lap.
So the bunching up penalty should also go for other cars infront of verstappen

First penalty for the delta time rule.

I think the reasoning from stewards makes sense, I don’t agree with not penalizing the outlap when it’s an important part of tire preparation, however there’s no rule for that.

Using the delta time rule for this doesn’t make sense. Plenty of drivers went over the delta time without penalties in this quali.

Even Russell himself slowed down after to create a gap to Alonso, this included driving around in 1st gear.
