If us are frustrating about the AM situation and waiting for a little light, imagine how frustrating is that for Alonso? I mean, the battery is over. its fine u make wrong choices sometimes and miss something or whatever, but Aston JUST make wrong things almost 2 years, unique team, even Sauber is improved that car and Aston just down to last position, its embarassing, Alonso was strong to hold this so much time. He will wait and cross through 2025 and if 2026 he cant fight for podiuns he will be retire. I never saw any team being so terrible with their development like Aston last 2 years. its impressive.

Alonso after FP1 : “This is the worst car I have ever driven”

I hope that new simulator pulls a miracle so we can end in a better note this season
Does anyone else find it a little bit odd that Alonso suddenly seems very forthright with his criticism of the car and team in the last two races? Considering they have got Newey and Cardille coming, as well as Cowell having just started, and it's the end of the season, I would have thought he might just have mentally checked out of this year and focusing on next year...

Just seems slightly jarring considering the context? Maybe I'm reading too much into it. But why would you want to potentially upset the team when good things are around the corner?
Yeah I find this to be a bit strange and off putting to be honest. Its clear hes upset about something bigger picture. Or maybe its health related crankiness but its completely pointless in the last race of the season.

People think hes very calculated and shrewd but if anything hes an extremely emotionally driven person. And he doesnt hide it very well either.

i read it as "if you cant bring one successful upgrade in a season, maybe you need to go with fallows" cowell has only made one major staffing change since hes been there, and maybe alonso thinks they have had a lot of time to show what they could do, with little to show for it. kindof hard to argue. it wasnt just fallows bringing these upgrades. every other team has had their eureka moment now, and seem to know how to make their cars faster, and aston are still bringing a new frankenstein car to every race, hoping itll work. i imagine there will be quite a few more changes in the coming months after newey gets there. i think seeing sauber bringing one update, and now on par or faster than aston was a hard pill to swallow since aston brought 5 or 6 and went nowhere.

i mean the guy is filled with terror that hes going to be driving a car, not better than the one hes driving now, through all of 2025 if something doesnt change. thats why hes acting "cranky". haha im sure his exact feeling is "im wasting the last 2 or 3 years of my career with a bunch of bafoons that cant bring 1 upgrade that works in a 2 year period" hamilton has been doing the same thing give or take, but hes not as "in your face" as alonso. im sure alonso just wants some heads to roll at this point, just so he can reach the light at the end of the tunnel (newey)

Alonso is unhappy with something for sure. If it is true that they couldn’t fix the energy deployment after the safety car since 2 years than for sure and he is pushing for a change.

After a series of 0 points scored Krack deflected the responsibility uniquely on Fallows “ saying “if there a lack of performance there is a change” but some others are not performing at the level Alonso wants.

Qualy simulation shows as the last car on the grid. However the pace look better and the race situation put us as 6th team. Maybe the new simulator will help us improve something.

Some interesting responses and I do agree it must be incredibly frustrating for him. However, if you think of all the upside changes that have just happened or are going to happen ( new simulator, Wind tunnel, Newey etc.). Politically, you'd think he'd hold off on being so critical as why potentially upset key decision makers in the team when you probably have a potential chance of winning in 2026 (if everything comes together), and that certainly will be your only chance. Seems like it's not worth the risk to me, even if he's angling to maybe get Tom McCulloch fired on something..(which would be good).. He's a smart guy I don't think it's heat of the battle stuff, maybe the battery comment was but not the "worse car I've ever driven" comment. That's a comment with a motive.

I just really hope he doesn't blow his last chance of a championship by being too outspoken.

It was a tough season for Aston, no podium and worst every race.

Alonso must keep in mind 2026, this is the goal.

And have a mindset of patience for 2025. I don’t know what they plan, I think they can basically a testing season, correlating, testing, and try to be able to replicate on track what they do at factory .

Most of the turns on this track are really slow corners ...1 <100KPH, 6 < 150KPH and 2 < 200 KPH everything else is flat out.

I know they were asked to change the rear wings, but the front wings on Mclaren and Mercedes are just outliers in terms of how much they flex. Maybe the key to slow speed corners with these cars is to have high angled front wings which flex down on the straights. When Aston Martin had their bendy front wing in '23, they were the best in slow corners too.

It was him playing games with FOM, nothing else, sadly.
