Ex-McLaren sources claimed that the big thing of 2010 will be the Dead Zone... but no one knows what this actually is..
The future of F1 aero will be defined by future rule regulation changes most probably in 2012/2013 to coincide with the new engine formula.
The new engine will be a part of a whole refresh of the F1 formula as the sport is steered into a greener future. Previous talk was of a measured limit to the amount of downforce allowed & a further expansion on current moveable aero regulations.
As WB said, this will lead to much greater emphasis on minimising drag, as opposed to teams currently compromising this for downforce.
As attempts for increased overtaking continue, there is a larger & larger possibility of the FIA standardising certain aero parts, much to the dismay of many F1 purists.
