First post/Question about currently Rear damper sys, config

Post

Hi everyone

If anybody can explain about currently F1's rear damper's configurations?
I couldn't understand from viewing most of the web photos, but with out a kinematics.
As they all looks like a single damper cylinder linked between both L/R side of the suspension push rod linkages, and I couldn't locate the springs, aren't they using torsion bars? And also sway-bar build in?

Thanks for any inputs in advance.

what you see is a heave damper, doubling up as a highdownforce spring (the bumpstops
on the dampershaft to limit downjacking at high speeds).
the current rearends use rocker type actuation with torsionbars going through the centre of the rocker arm sviwel-these are orintated longitudinally in the car .the dampers are either rotary or standing in an near upright position within the gearbox housing/clutchbellhousing.

For gods sake USF1,it's over! Stop trying to get us to design your car for you, you're never going to race it!

Nawww, I'm joking, welcome to the forums Drew. Where people like marcush post proper answers and people like me make snarky comments and dumb questions. Much fun is had by all. :D :D :D
