Hi,

Just wanted to share this on board video of the Schumacher/Barichello incident.

My opinion is that both drivers are to blame. Barrichello should have gone on the outside. Schumacher should have given more room earlier.

I agree with someone who said earlier than the penalty is not only for this incident, but for previous ones as well.

I think his fans are just as frustrated.
I seriously doubt he will finish this very season, but how can you tell?
Well, going in a different direction on the Schumacher story I think he now doesn't give a toss about this season and is counting on getting a car to his liking for next year. However, when he was at Ferrari he was competing against Adrian Newey, Williams and McLaren in alternate years and it took him four years to win a championship - and he even spoke to McLaren because he felt that it might never happen. Now he's competing against Adrian Newey, Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren (three rivals as opposed to one at a time in each year) and they're all winning races while he is nowhere near close. They also all have, or will have, experienced World Champions in their team.

Mercedes are going to have to commandeer some serious talent as he managed to attract at Ferrari because the Mercedes team still consists of the people who produced that pile of turd that Jenson drove in 2008. They've reared their heads again this year after lucking out a bit last year. He has Ross Brawn but he is the Team Principal and there is no Rory Byrne around that I can see who can give them a shortcut to the front.

Time is simply not on his side and he can't afford to wait years to start winning. That doesn't make sense to me. He could be 45 or 46 before Mercedes get their act together and have the right ingredients in place, if ever.

Yer, I don't think Vettel got favoured in that race! He can say what he likes about his radio failing but I think it's clear that RB were trying to get Webber a jump so they could get themselves a 1-2 finish. Vettel just went rather too far.

Age shouldn't matter so much for F1 drivers given their fitness levels. Sure on paper someone could be 41 or 42 but in terms of fitness they could easily just be as fit as someone 10 years younger if they train enough I guess.

Taking the inside line was giving Rubens better entry into the 1st corner.

PS. Maybe I am naive but I am expecting more from Michael. He has 7 titles, no one can take his achievements away from him. I would like him to show more dignity and class.

Nice video, it happened so fast, but we can see a knee jerk reaction from the benz driver as soon as rubens got beside.
If Micheal was not as skilled as he is, maybe if he was not multi tasking, using his mirrors, those rear wheels could have interlocked sending one car into the wall or into the air.
If both drivers had any less skill or experience, it would have been messy.

I like this racing, but shu over did it, maybe by a hundreth of a second to much pressure on rubens.
For Sure!!

He never had dignity or class 'back in the day'.

Speed, yes; class and dignity, no.

How on earth could any rational thinking person apportion ANY blame for this to Rubens??

Why should he only be allowed to pass on the outside??

About Schu-Rubens, Schu slightly over did, but it was simply racing. Ruthless, but nothing we haven't seen before. Rubens could've backed off, if he found it so dangerous!
Just my opinion. :)

Extremely sorry to deviate from the topic of discussion, but does anyone have a snapshot of Vettel hitting the 'Number 3' board in parc ferme, after driving in too fast? :D I thought it was rather hilarious.

It's not an opinion and trying to paint this as a situation where everybody's 'opinion' is valid regardless of what justification they give is simply bogus.

He moves right, stops and then moves right again - all while he is looking in his right hand mirror and reacting to where Rubens is going. If you can't see that, or don't want to see it, then you just can't be helped. To explain that we'll have to go through the video footage frame by frame telling you exactly where he starts moving and where he stops and go through the concept of what stopping and starting means - and you still won't want to see it.
OMG Seg is making sense! The sky is falling!
(seriously though, good job Seg, sorry for this tease)
