Kovalainen was well on the pace and McLaren was expecting a front row lockout. Heikki suffered gearbox issues in the middle of Q2marcush. wrote:I might add he wrestled a time out of it to be on pole with only a lap or two less in fuel than Vettel whereas kovalainen was 1.3seconds slower in Q2 ...so I ´d say the car was not really top notch probably....

If people think he's a crap driver, then for him to be beating Vettel says how much he had muster this year to be at the front.
Alonso doesn't deserve it as much as Webber. Alonso is operating within his limits, Webber, a journey man, is driving top class 80% of the time.
He deserves it, either him or Hamilton.

Stop with this BS! How many overtakes did Hamilton do after he lost his huge F-duct advantage from early season? And many of those early-season overtakes were also because he, for one or another reason, found himself in unusually low position fighting much slower cars.

To be fair, Hamilton overtook all of his direct competitors this year, Vettel, Webber, Alonso, Massa, Button, all of them, some multiple times.vall wrote:Besides, look back at the past and tell me what do you prefer: a much faster car overtaking slower cars (what LH typically do) or overtaking of direct WDC contenders with more or less equal cars? I would do for the latter.
Save your breath mate. We all saw the class difference between Hamilton, Alonso and Button in Malaysia. While Lewis was scything through slower cars like a hot knife through butter, what was Alonso and Button doing ? Exactly.vall wrote:FrukostScones wrote:I love Hamiltons aggressiveness and ability to overtake. What I don't like is Ignorance! Webber was almost as fast as Vettel this year, thats for sure. answer my question, do not make subjective statements. I do not question his overtaking abilities. The BS was about the fan-boys making the noise. Besides, look back at the past and tell me what do you prefer: a much faster car overtaking slower cars (what LH typically do) or overtaking of direct WDC contenders with more or less equal cars? I would do for the latter. Just look at Hakkinnen-Scummy, Alonso-Schummy, Hill-Schumy, JV-Schummy battles among the more recent examples. Not to mention other great fights from more distant past. It is completely different from LH overtaking Petrov fro example (no offence here)
