Yes, have to agree with you all. Just do one run in Q3. In short, qualifying is not that crucial, compared to previous years.
On a side note, why did Webber start the race on prime tyres?
To get them out of the way whilst stuck in traffic, giving him three sets of options to attack with once the field had started to spread and he'd be able to make use of them. That choice, in my view, is what earned him the podium.alvinkhorfire wrote:Yes, have to agree with you all. Just do one run in Q3. Depends if it was activated by the driver or a malfunction.murtoidf1 wrote:Having seen the footage of the DRS, surely Alonso should be waiting for a penalty.
Sauber have been penalized for much less.
The leading car has a natural advantage. DRS is the artificial advantage. But I tend to think it's sort of needed, even though I dislike it much. Don't get me wrong, I get your overall point, but I think artificial is used wrongly in that sentence.tok-tokkie wrote:For me the greatest improvement to F1 has been the DRS. Previously the following car would catch up till it was <1sec behind & then the procession started. The leading car had a huge artificial advantage. The DRS has nullified that.
Some say the DRS gives artificial racing. I think it has restored racing.
But, didn't Barichello have problems with DRS in previous race where it was activated in the wrong sector only? If he could do it manually then what was the problem? Simply that he didn't get indication that he was allowed to use it at proper times? Weird.Diesel wrote:I think they driver gets a signal to say he can use it, I don't think it get's activated/deactivated. There's enough problems with radios and cameras failing on cars, I doubt they would have remote activated DRS.
I still feel the DRS zone should have been on the pit straight it was probably the perfect length. Having to set it up for half of the back straight just seemed wierd... Why don't they tweak the amount of time it can be used, or the amount it opens?
