It would wreak havoc in the way the diffs work, and would probably cause some problems with the absence of engine braking.

"Throttle pedal already are like that, more or less."

I wondered if the throttle might not be less sensitive at the fully open end of the throttle range. This would be when the big power kicks in.

Not sure why he singles out Ferrari. I would have thought that this benefited everyone to varying degrees except maybe Renault.

Marko is correct to be annoyed though. This is typical F1. Something being used in an innovative or different way that seems to give one team an advantage will sooner or later be banned.

This ruling is obviously aimed at cutting Red Bull's advantage but the Red Bull brass are seemingly unconcerned. I seriously hope it turns out that the EBD is not the holy grail of Red Bull's advantage.

Really? Breaking engine homologation and allowing renault to redesign the second weakest engine in the sport is aimed at cutting RBR's advantage?

There is nothing innovative about turning an engine in to a leaf blower.

Who has done it previously?
I accept that it was common in the days of tunnels. But blowing close to the diffuser exit like a 'leaf blower'?

I'm not one to listen to much of Markko, but given Domenicali's sudden giveaway comment of a 'second championship' after Silverstone it does make you wonder a bit.

It's not leaf blowing that's innovative, but working out where the leaves are going. I half suspect that other teams are simply finding it hard to keep up with Red Bull's understanding of these exhaust gases and the vortices off the back of the car.

Blowing the diffuser is fine, nothing wrong with that, and it's very clever, plus it's not the thing that has been banned.

For this season maybe, but next season is a different matter.

RB were constantly whining about their engine being down on power. Suddenly the moaning stopped (about a year ago) and now its started again, coincidence, I don't think so.
Became a McLaren fan in the late 70's when I ended up laminating their Kevlar nosecones.

I like it!

He has just blown the cover of RBR. All of the team played it nice and smooth but Helmut obviously had to ruin the party.

He can´t complain one bit. Ferrari had for example the hole in the nosecone that was banned instantly..

Could RBR and other teams not work around this engine map ban by simply making one map that would do what the qualy map does but only for 6 laps or so?
