So this is the billionaire with links to Spyker who saved SAAB? Hardly a great track record when it comes to automobiles.

Ten Hoopen continued: "I think it is pretty much a mess within that team (Renault). Put it this way, it is clear in terms of Lotus-Renault that many things remain unclear.
Says it all really. I think it's beginning to dawn on everyone that the Group Lotus money is non-existent and they have no plan whatsoever. Apart from that I think the infrastructure and technical nucleus of the team is actually pretty decent.

Yeah, the team itself isn't so bad, but the money is the main issue.

Our new GP2 Champion Mr. Gross Jeans has been signed by Renault. They'll run him as their regular reserve driver starting at the Singaporean race.

Barrichello would be better at Ferrari than Massa, but that will never happen. Williams is really sinking down the ranks, but they don't have much of an option. I'd take Barrichello over any of the drivers in the bottom three teams, but I don't see that happening.

According to Scarbs on Twitter, Aldo Costa is on his way to Mercedes and Chris Dyer is away to a posible McLaren birth.

However, on Driver News, Nico Rosberg has aggreed a deal untill 2015 with Mercedes and is another step towards that team having stability.

I am sure there will be more driver announcements in the next 4 weeks as i think that many teams want to have 2012 sealed up before the end of the season so they can avoid some of the uncertanty that was arround a few teams untill mid January.

So far the grid looks like this:

01/02] Red Bull-Renault: Vettel/Webber
03/04] McLaren-Mercedes: Hamilton/Button (Asuming Button has his 2012 option taken)
05/06] Scuderia Ferarri: Alonso/Massa
07/08] Mercedes GP: Schumacher/Rosberg
09/10] Lotus Renault GP: Petrov/(Kubica/Senna/Grosjean)
11/12] Force India-Mercedes: (Sutil/Di Resta/Hulkenberg)/(Sutil/Di Resta/Hulkenberg)
14/15] Sauber-Ferrari: Kobiyashai/Perez TD: Guiteriez
16/17] Scuderia Toro Rosso-Ferrari: (Alguersauri/Buemi/Riccardo)/(Alguersauri/Buemi/Riccardo)
18/19] Williams-Renault: (Buemi/Riccardo/Grosjean/Senna/Barrichello/Sutil/Bianchi/Pic)/Maldanado
20/21] Team Lotus-Renault: Kovalinenn/Trulli TD: Chandhok
22/23] Hispania-Cosworth: Liuzzi/(Riccardo/Senna/Grosjean/Hulkenberg/Clos)
24/25] Marussia Virgin-Cosworth: Glock/(D'Ambrosio/Grosjean/Senna/Riccardo/Hulkenberg)

Not many seats left, however i can see posibly 2 or 3 new rookies, and Grosjean come into the sport. Too many drivers, too little seats.

Does'nt anyone else think that it's a disaster for the sport that Team Lotus has retained Jarno Trulli for next year!? There are many drivers in F1 that should be dropped for young talents and I think Jarno Trulli is on top of that list!

I wonder how much of their driver choice involves budgeting for the 10th place prize money. Say if Virgin or HRT get a 12th place finish & pip them to 10th would they need to consider a driver that brings in sponsorship money (which according to the linked articles include Sutil, van der Garde, Bianchi & Pic) or does Trulli bring in a fair bit too?

From what I understand, Adrian Sutil has no sponsorship money for next year, Medion(which sponsor him with about $ 1.2 million) is on the verge of filing for bancruptcy. This togheter with his poor performance compared to Paul di Resta may be an opening for Nico Hulkenberg.

F1 is getting boring

NO NEW CARS

DRIVERS REMAIN WHERE THEY ARE

TRACKS REMAIN THE SAME

WONDER HOW 2011 IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT TO 2012
