Lotus Renault GP is pleased to announce that Kimi Räikkönen will race for the team next season. The 2007 World Champion, who left Formula 1 at the end of 2009 to pursue a career in rallying, has decided to make a comeback at the pinnacle of single-seater racing. He has now signed a two-year agreement with Lotus Renault GP.

Says it all really. I think it's beginning to dawn on everyone that the Group Lotus money is non-existent and they have no plan whatsoever. I wonder how much of their driver choice involves budgeting for the 10th place prize money. Say if Virgin or HRT get a 12th place finish & pip them to 10th would they need to consider a driver that brings in sponsorship money (which according to the linked articles include Sutil, van der Garde, Bianchi & Pic) or does Trulli bring in a fair bit too?Donuts wrote:Does'nt anyone else think that it's a disaster for the sport that Team Lotus has retained Jarno Trulli for next year!? From what I understand, Adrian Sutil has no sponsorship money for next year, Medion(which sponsor him with about $ 1.2 million) is on the verge of filing for bancruptcy.
