Huh? Which picture?Mr.S wrote:Wheelbase looks as short as Mercedes last year. Big departure from last year. Then again it is important to understand from this picture.

FFS, the 27 it is not! Any chance it can be forgotten and we can get back to some stimulating conversation?
The quote as mentioned by Mr. Strokes above.all I can say with any certainty is that the MP4-27 is a logical evolution of the MP4-26, adapted to the new technical regulations, and that from what we can discern its development is going in the right direction
Its a GENERIC shape and is not even representative of the 26,let alone the 27!n smikle wrote:Alexgtt wrote:=D> The boys at Mclaren would be laughing their heads off if they read just half the crap posted he re: that bloody generated image!!

Since the 27 is a natural evolution, the picture could well be the MP4-27!! I am slightly nervous of this because the '26 sucked hard when it came to no EBD.
It's also rather simplistic to just say that the 26 sucked without the EBD - there were a number of factors that exaggerated Silverstone, plus the car wasn't without the EBD it was without off throttle blowing of the EBD.gilgen wrote:Its a GENERIC shape and is not even representative of the 26,let alone the 27!n smikle wrote:Alexgtt wrote:=D> The boys at Mclaren would be laughing their heads off if they read just half the crap posted he re: that bloody generated image!!

The regulations that say you're not allowed to have bodywork in the path of the exhaust plume, perhaps?Alexgtt wrote:what stops them exiting the exhaust so that the bodywork still funnels the exhaust gases to the diffuser area?
well, yes, but I think the question was more in the spirit of e.g. the fact the front wing cascade is mostly there to direct air to various bits of the car behind it.raymondu999 wrote:The regulations that say you're not allowed to have bodywork in the path of the exhaust plume, perhaps?Alexgtt wrote:what stops them exiting the exhaust so that the bodywork still funnels the exhaust gases to the diffuser area?
This is what I was thinking. The influence of the front aero/vortices on directing exhaust gas over the rear engine cover and the shape of the engine cover to manipulate it and blow diffuser/rear wing lower element, etc.???Gridlock wrote:well, yes, but I think the question was more in the spirit of e.g. the fact the front wing cascade is mostly there to direct air to various bits of the car behind it.raymondu999 wrote:The regulations that say you're not allowed to have bodywork in the path of the exhaust plume, perhaps?Alexgtt wrote:what stops them exiting the exhaust so that the bodywork still funnels the exhaust gases to the diffuser area?
You couldn't mount bodywork in the restricted zones, but you could send vortices and airflows in favourable directions using bodywork in front of the exits.
Yes you have good point but this efect is very depend on diff car speeds! So i think the best is to maitain flow infont exhaus untouch to make proper wing blowing...Alexgtt wrote:
