Judging from this pic it does actually look to be transparent.

looking at the pic in the link, what is that thing attached to the RW endplate in the curve. it looks like a camera housing.

You can see the RW throug it. Some image artifact ?

Or perfectly lined up reflection from the other side. Certainly an interesting photo!

Brighter objects take less time to register on a digital camera's CCD than darker images, so it is likely that the "transparency" is simply the background being registered in the brief exposure time that occurs after the moving car has already passed. I have witnessed very similar effects when taking photos of dancers in nightclubs, which have gone to the extreme of merging two people into a single body!

interesting, williams was fast last year in jerez but we all know 2011 was the worst season for them

i just hope it doesn't happen the same thing with lotus because kimi is flying like roadrunner beep beep

Its because the end plates are symetrical, so you think the fin is transparant because the reflection of one end plate shows the exact same thing as the end plate which is hidden by the fin.
