CaterhamF1 CT-01 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Love that green and yellow in the shadow. The blank space makes the car look awesome.

MG : Team all ready to start testing this morning again in Jerez, Heikki driving again today. All problems fixed overnight. Will be running with KERS active for the first time today, will be interesting for the engineers and driver

Heikki seems happy with the car straight out of the box, more grip, sharper steering and felt faster than the 2011 car even from the few laps yesterday with no real setup changes.
How about the power steering?

"The steering feels slightly more precise. I have only done three laps so I can't really tell more but, so far, positive feeling."

Actually I think Trulli likes less power steering assistance - That way he can get an accurate feel of the circuit's grip

A positive response from the drier is always a good indication of progress.

Still some weeks before we know how much progress but I'dlike to see them succeed.
I love Caterham cars. Owned a 7 some 10 yrs ago. Best smile I ever owned

It seems that the Caterham's gills aren't actually slotted through. Is this just a preliminary engine cover? I can't think there are many benefits to just adding some fake gills.
