Yes the wake they create is kept clear of any bodywork due to their higher position. If they were lower that wake would flow along (or close) to the body and cause problems potentially.

Are there any pictures from Melbourne that clearly show whether Mclaren is using the snowplow or not?

No pictures yet i guess we could see tomorrow.

If it rains we could see the plough return?

The snow plough would only be of use if it snows, and that appears to be unlikely.

interesting exhaust, more inboard and forward than previous. They've kept the pod cutout. Curious... unless I'm seeing things of course!

Yes the exhaust is more inboard. They tried different configuration in Barcelona. Maybe they are going to use this one or keep changing it for the race.

Good info ;) reminds me of Sauber positioning for exhaust, but I don't recall seeing any images of this style during testing.

So either they're still evaluating hence the pod and cut out's presence...
Or
The pod and cutout has a benefit irrespective of exhaust function.

I think I'm with you there FakeAlonso, they're still evaluating. Valuable testing time available as long as they can fix a setup for Qualy.

Looks identical to the one they ran late in the Barca test, which is as we expected anyway.

aye, need more pictures to be sure, but both shots previously look to have exhausts more inboard and further towards cockpit in addition to the pods and cutouts... I'm willing to also believe it's reflections in the absence of higher res or additional imagery.

I think the upper chord is shorter perhaps.
