I thought they went back to their respective homes for some work before getting sent to China. Would the teams really send their cars to the new circuit 3 weeks early?

cars went direct there from last race
And how do you know this?

Whitmarsh said they improved the MP4-27 and they're pleased with their work. He also said every team attempted to improve their car while the 3 week break, so i don't think the cars went straight from Malaysia to China.

Not necessarily. Parts can be flown straight to China too. But I'm not sure teams would have their cars sitting around in some paddock for 3 weeks

The cars do go straight to China. There was an article about Lotus having to ship out a new chassis for Grosjean and how that meant they were shipping his original chassis back to the factory for tests but Raikkonen's and the rest of the equipment would be going straight to China.

Why though? As in, why would they leave it at a paddock for 3 weeks?

I'm not saying they don't. I just can't fathom the why

A lot of the logistics are also centrally organised and managed by FOM (and I believe they pay for a large part of it too). Handling the shipping of everything back to different locations to then be shipped out again all over the place would add a huge amount of complexity and cost.

Plus there isn't really a huge need for the cars to be shipped back to base.

I hope it's a dry race. I'm really eager to see the cars perform in relatively normal conditions.

Well it says 0 precip in all 3 days; so I think no rain is a safe bet :P

The temps also only vary about 5 deg (from my forecast) so should be interesting to see how the Merc performs

It seems a bit cooler than usual... but at least it seems stable, so they'll have friday to get things figured out.

The Chinese GP has always been cold, especially since they moved it to the start of the season

If Grosjean messes up again i'm poking needles through his voodoo doll. He's seriously cost me a lot of points in my Fantasy League. Not to mention he took out Michael (My primary driver selection).

I would have been better served selecting Perez! :(
