gurney flaps on the RW endplates... really guys. what's Spanish for 'massive drag' or is this common practice across the paddock, I can't say I've noticed it before.

To be honest, I wondered if they were there as structural elements on the HRT >.<

Nah, I think many teams has some kind of gurney on the end plate. Here are a few examples, it's hard to find good photos of it but especially the Ferrari one is quite distinct (Click for high res):

Luis Perez-Sala has said on Formula1.com that HRT will be bringing a purpose built low down force rear wing to Canada. Nice to see that they are starting to tailor there aerodynamic setup to each circuit. It will be interesting to see what progress is made

They did that last year as well, so it's not a case of 'starting' to tailor their setup for each circuit. It will probably be similar to last year's in which, the wing doesn't extend to the full height of the endplate.

The races are very open, with a lot of overtaking opportunities, such as the first corner and the last chicane. You can be competitive with good top speed, braking and grip and it’s important to set the car up in a similar fashion to Monaco to get it coming out quickly from turns. Last year HRT used 3 Rear wing different configurations ...

My mistake then on the aerodynamic setup comment. I read that HRT were locked in to one aero configuration with the Dellara car but I must have misunderstood the meaning.

HRT will try to beat the Virgins and Caterhams with their top speed. Yesterday DLR made 320kph !

HRT are doing well this weekend, that have a lot of new mechanical components for they also have a really low downforce set up as well, this is really good for this track, and will do well at Spa as well.

However they have a major upgrade coming for Silverstone that should see them make a giant step for them.

However id expect them to make this their only upgrade this year as id expect them to spend a lot of time on the F113 and get it tested before next year as there is a rumoured rule change where teams have to do at least 4 days testing and have two chassis shaken down for the first race for a safety point of view.

This car is now showing that it is a good car to their previous ones, they just need to get laps on it as the more data they have the more they will improve.

HRT is a revelation and shows pretty much what can be done on a shoestring (in Formula1 scale). =D> =D>

F1 is a prototype series with limited testing. No team will make a giant leap with any upgrade. AFAIK Spa is a circuit where downforce still is king so I don't see HRT making any big strides there.
For me the acid test for HRT will be whether they can produce a chassis to accomodate the 2014 rules. That requires a new transnission and altered internal dynamics to account for MGUs harvesting from both the crankshaft and the turbo.

Well they built a new chassis this year, so let's discuss the F112 and not the F114
