Hamilton will be hoping for a fully wet track tomorrow - he was a second quicker than anyone else in Q2 in the proper wet.

If it's a race on the inters then the McLarens will struggle and the Ferrari looks to be plenty quick in pure inter conditions.

It's going to be fun in to the first corners with Madonado and Hamilton next to each other. Any bets on "fireworks" between them?

Tomorrow's race is likely to be interesting because if the conditions change then the pace will be moving around the drivers as some seem to have pace in one condition and not another.

Alonso did his best time in Q2 in his last lap, where Grosjean had spun in the penultimate corner and when there were waved yellows. His best time from Q2 should've been erased and he therefore eliminated. Rules are rules.

Schumi on inters - had 1 lap - 1 lap to get the time in. 1 outlap, 1 hotlap. And he goes 3rd.

Everyone else had 4-5laps worth of experience on the inters. schumi does it in 1.

for me, he has proven this year that hes still got the raw skill.
He was already faster in S2 and S3 but probably too conservative at S1. Which is understandable for the first hot lap.....

The rules say you have to slow down for the waved yellows – he did, he set a slower sector 3 time than he had in the past.

Please don't start a debate on the yellow flags. It is useless - if it would have been an investigation it would have been announced.

Finally, pole for Alonso. Decent run for Massa too.

It's plausbile that he set a better lap time then his previous attempt even though having driven slower in the last sector. Did the commentators say that ?

Alonso seems to be coming from behind too often. Nearly knocked out in Q2 to pole.

Was amazing last 3 mins of Q3 with the pole changing with every attempt. Seeing the replays of his lap now. Seems he was almost entirely driving away from the dry racing line where the drying line was not appearing. Was missing the apexes quite often and turns out those were the best lines to take

As for Hamilton. THIS can be blamed on McLaren Strategy. Full wets when everyone was on inters. Still was pretty slow after 2-3 laps on inters, maybe the car just doesnt work very well on inters, cases in point Malaysia, Q1 this time around and now Q3. Whereas they are very good on full wets

Someone, like Force India, could still protest it.

Beautiful...what a dream top 3!...thought Hamilton would of been a good addition.

1. ALONSO
2. WEBBER
3. SCHUMACHER

Wet Weather Specialists...these are your men...as well as Raikkonen/HAM.

I think an overlooked story is Hamilton and Maldonado lining up next to one another at P7 and P8.

Fireworks perhaps?

Have a gut feeling that an incident between Hamilton and Maldonado will take place in the first few laps which will see Hamilton crashing out, with the unluck hes having at the moment.

Schumacher hinted he had the car to be on pole today so the decision to start Q3 on wets was bad judgement especially with their own weatherforecast being sure the rain would come back only after end of Q3 .
The inters came alive only after T1 really and that cost him pole...but he seemed to be quite happy with third as a very good position to go into the race..always positive...

Wow.. the Inters just don't work on the Mclaren! They just don't.

Good Job by Alonso and MSC. Massa did well too. Well, Maldonado is starting beside Hamilton. I hope that theirs no fireworks.

So what is the reason why the McLarens have no grip on the semi slick inters?

Lack of downforce?

Trademark stiff springs?
