Still, a great circuit with a unique character.
So the circuit improvement was only in terms of a new pit building and grandstand?
according to motorsport-total.com the track is almost ready for f1. dr marko said the problem are the 20-30 millions of euros for bernie. that's all i know.
so he´s got both in a choke hold now... typical Bernie.
Both RBRing and Turkey have said they have everything done.....except.....money
So obviously Bernie is gonna play this ice cold and take the track with the most money offered.

Facilities that needed rebuilding after just 7 years of racing.
Within those 7 years F1 moved on from simply needing to have somewhere to put cars and personnel as any other racing series, to needing to have pompous national-themed architectural behemoths, hotels that change colour and the rest of it to blow the minds of corporate guests and the TV-viewers of this advertisement funded by local tourism budgets. It doesn't necessarily mean the facilities were unsuitable for racing, it's just that racing isn't the focus of a Grand Prix anymore.

Dude have you seen interlagos?
Yeah Bernie is always so glad to go there, he simply loves the track and the environment. The only reason that GP is still on the calendar is because it coughs up the money Bernie wants, if they didnt we wouldnt be racing there anymore a long time ago.
Most states in Austria have a limit on grandstands at a sporting facility due to cost of policing an event, only 3 football stadia are over that figure. Two were built for Euro 2008, one is their national stadium and has an athletics track around it.
The A1 ring in 2003 to what Ive seen on TV id say would be 110,000+ there.
The cost of policing may be out the question. In the UK it costs roughly £100,000 per football match with 50,000 spectators. In Austria I am led to believe its 150% the cost of a comparable UK match. So that is 1.5M per 50,000, so make it £3m as a guess, thats €3.8m rounded up.
Say Bernie takes the €26m that Turkey has negotiated for the event, plus the €4m it takes to put on a GP without the costs of the 5 days to put it on. Generally F1 events in Europe cost between €35m and €40m to put on, then you have to break even or dare i say make a profit.
Silverstone can accommodate 165,000 people each day, this is likely to rise in the next few years to 185,000 and then finally to the vaunted 200,000 mark when money is available. The cost of a ticket this year was on average £85.
Id guess it would be almost €150 for a ticket at the A1 Ring.
However Red Bull seemingly want a home GP, even if its a one off. Im sure Mr Red Bull owner and Mr E can come to an arrangement.
However i think the state that the A1 is in have environemntal laws for motorsport and also noise laws that make putting on motorsport events almost a non existent idea. The only way that DTM and F3 get away with it is that they are just 3dB below the maximum level of 120dB.
However I must say id prefer Turkey, Magney, Imola and then finally the A1 Ring on the calendar.
