Mercedes AMG F1 W04 (pre-launch speculation)

i'd imagine he'd mean quick compared to last years car. But then again, he's not going to say its slower.

It will be more relevant to see what Hamilton says as he can compare it to the MP4-27 which was on average the fastest car last year

I'd be interested to know how they setup the simulator. I would preume the track physics don't change and they input car data based on earo and tire "expectations". Since new car dymanics haven't been tested, the correlation could be off (for better or worse) but I would think the engineers would use best case target levels which would of course make initial simulations optomistic?

i dont know if you're joking but im pretty sure thats the W03. its interesting to see how wide the radiators are, i thought they would have tapered in a lot more on the outside edge.

There was obviously no chance that they would let a revealing photo slip to the press so many days before the official presentation of the W04. Even by the "Mercedes" standards, and by that I mean silver-painted BAR Honda's, it would be sloppy and unprofessional.

It would be a nice opportunity though for Lauda to test his PR skills as well as his ability to provide "explanations" to the suits whose patience isn't known to be that great.

In the more "car-related" news, will there not be a teaser this year? I remember last year that there where 2. 1-2 days ago McLaren released a teaser video (which obviously reveals nothing but still..) and Ferrari an image, although I'm not sure, I've only heard about the latter. Nothing from Merc?

It could be the W04. The radiators seem to be a bit different, wider and in an more vertical position compared to last year. Also the bodywork covering the engine has a different color compared to last year.

Would be a huge screw up though from Mercedes.

Aabar isn't in the team/ownership anymore and we will not find them on the new car (unless they do some kind of partnership/sponsorship contract which I doubt). So it's not the W04.

In that case, Aabar made the deal of the year. Sold their stakes and still their name on the car. Yeah, that seems very logic to me (sarcasm mode off).

Wasnt Aabar partially owned by Mercedes-Benz/owned a part of Mercedes-Benz? If that then it is quite logical to still see the name on the car. Since it is involved in Mercedes-Benz(the car manufacturer).

Also, talking about your logic, does the name "Lotus" ring any bells?

I didnt took a look at the sponsorship on the car, I took a look at the car, and noticed a few things that seemed different.
