They do have a set or two each here, but Massa's time was set on the softs.

Autosport:
Just the 140 laps for Rosberg today. That's more than anyone achieved during 2011's pre-season test here at Jerez (the most was Michael Schumacher on 139, although he was in the 2011-spec Mercedes). Exactly what the doctor ordered after the setbacks of the first two days.

Isn't it the other way around? Pirelli saying the Jerez track surface is too rough, and it's difficult to evaluate the data.

So, testing times or no, it seems clear that there is still a significant gap between the "new" teams and the others.

Did I expect any more? No, not really, but it's a sign of the difficulty of getting into F1 from scratch that, 3 years on, of the 3 new teams, one is gone and the other two are still several seconds off the pace.

Maybe they're both running very different programs, but I doubt it.

Well HRT are gone, and Marussia is under real financial strain. Caterham have yet to launch their definitive 2013 car - we're expecting a B car later this year which is supposed to be a much bigger step forward. Time will tell though...

We definitely need BMW, Honda, Toyota and others back... Especially because the V6 era is coming. It's closer to road cars than V8.
Fernando Alonso is the best pay-to-drive driver in F1 with the biggest amount of money behind him.

Then upgrade it a bit and ask Bernie for spot on the grid!

It was a clutch problem for Kimi.

Yeah right.

It would be nice to see some extra engines, but as teams they can and should stay away from F1 as far as possible. Each and every team of those manufactures was a failure, one bigger then the other. The latest big failure in the making is Mercedes.

What F1 needs are teams like Sauber, Mclaren, Williams and in some degree Red Bull. Teams who aren't interested in global sale-figures, but only on pure racing results.
